KINETIC SOUND INSTALLATION

Title: Passage & Procession
Medium: Spun hair and bronze. 102 x 24 x 24″

Noēma are suspended from the artist’s own spun hair. A gentle push of these pendulums elicit several minutes of bronze resonance. Their movement displays interconnections between gravity, rhythm and vibration. As the rhythm of these pendulums swing, gravity and oscillations create infinite arrangements of pitches, tones and resonance.

The video below shows the piece filmed in slow motion. Slowing time also slows vibration and alters the sound produced.
