Quadrivium II, 2024
Bronze noēma sculptures, metallic cord, bronze rod. Kinetic sound instrument (soundscape installation in repose), 120 x 72 x 72 in.

Quadrivium is both a sound instrument and a soundscape installation. This installation can be experienced by walking around it, sitting nearby or by laying back on the seated platform underneath it. A light push from the hand will engage the forty-nine suspended bronze pieces. They become instruments of gravitational forces that collide and form hypnotic arrangements of movement, vibration, and resonant sound. Installed within dark room this soundscape offers a meditative space to explore perception and way in which matter, energy and vibration connect.

Quadrivium is the Latin word meaning “where four roads meet – a crossroads” and references an ancient curriculum consisting of four subjects: Arithmetic, Geometry, Harmonics & Astronomy.
