CHACO CULTURE NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK
I am honored to have been invited to Chaco National Historic Park to discuss my art practice during an Astronomy Festival. Pueblo artist and educator, Marlon Magdalena, along with astronomer Alice Monet each presented on their own unique aspects of art, culture and astronomy. During the event, I was able to spend time with a group of visiting astronomers and connect over studying the history of night skies! These are just a few of the images I captured during my time there.

SOLO EXHIBIT: SINE LANGUAGE
SINE LANGUAGE at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO | October 26 – December 06, 2023
This work is an exploration of translating sound and resonance into visible, tangible marks and formations. By investigating resonant sound frequencies that reveal defined wave patterns (the science of sine waves and Cymatics), I’m engaging vibration as a tool and medium to create my large-scale paintings, drawings, sculpture, and sound installations.

My work and studio were recently featured in Hyperalleric Arts Magazine. The article focuses on the history, development and implementation of the obsessive, organic, sculptural forms reoccurring my work. In this evolution, they’ve taken on quite a life of their own and have become worthy of a name that defines them –– I fondly refer to these forms as noēma.

BRONZE SOUND INSTALLATION
February 2021, Exploring gravity, resonance, rhythm and time.
Gravity arranges collisions of the suspended bronze noēma bells. Interactions create oscillations to create infinite arrangements of pitches, tones and resonance. With time slowed down, the interdependence between gravity, vibration and time can be seen.
PUBLIC ART
Conductive Pathways was commissioned for in the lobby of AC Hotel, Marriott Companies. It was installed in early 2021. Downtown Phoenix Arizona. Conductive Pathways is 140 pieces of torch-fired copper suspended from thirteen points. The larger pieces at the center overlap to create interconnections. With a torch, thermal conduction released energy to enable pathways to reveal themselves on the surfaces. It is through these elements and process that a collective emergence forms and develops. From atom, to cell, to circuit, to city, to constellation, to universe, energy traverses connections between humanness, technology and cosmology. All energy is interconnected and everything is within everything else.
COMMISSION
SEQUENCE & CONJUNCTION is a large suspended ceiling installation commissioned for the main lobby of Wexford’s Biomedical Campus located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
COMMISSION
Engulfed is a commissioned 22ft. metal panel of sepia toned aerial satellite imagery and aviation chart patterns. It is included in a client’s corporate collection in Houston, Texas. Additional images and project specifics here.
PHOENIX ART MUSEUM INSTALLATION
Tethered Tensions is an installation presented at the Phoenix Art Museum. The work, composed of 500 feet of the artist’s own spun hair and held together by hundreds of small mirrors, is tethered to six futuristic concrete sculptures in a 15 x 17ft room. It offers the audience an immersive space to consider ominous reflections, tensions and the fragile counterbalance between humanness and ecology. Details and images here.
